This is Budget Your Energy, say good B.Y.E. to inefficiency, and hello to positive routines and habits that allow you to use you energy wisely
We are not (usually) taught how to manage money in school, Then we get money, and choose whether to learn about it or not. Sometimes we could be lucky enough that someone we know and trust teaches us what they know. Teaching us is one thing but implementing that knowledge or lesson are two separate conversations. We learn that our 'income' is a finite number, we either expand our means or we live within them. We allocate parts of that income, whether one or more streams, to parts of our life. We 'know' or have been conditioned to know that we need food, how much we allocate is up to us. We budget for transport and entertainment (if we budget at all). At the end of the month, if you have done well, your 'input' of money will equal or be more than the 'output' of money. Why do we not do the same for our energy??
I have been working in high end and luxury food and beverage for a decade. The hours and time management needed to be efficient in this field has helped me develop positive habits and routines to manage my time, but more importantly my energy.
These methods I use are not entirely my own, they are adaptions of mentors and leaders that have positively impacted my career and journey, books that I have read involving the subject as well as some podcasts too, anywhere in the economy of information and attention, and now it is time to pass that on.
My truth for starting this will follow in future writing, However I will be constantly learning on the journey. I am by no means a happy guru with not a care in the world, I have my dark days, my inefficient days, ups and downs, smiles and frowns, But that is a part of B.Y.E. and just like the guitar that I play, I have realized that you do not stop learning and hopefully improving, and you are only playing against yourself.
A wise women once told me that life is what happens when you are busy making plans. That was about 15 years ago and that wise women was my Mother.
Over the course of this journey I plan to focus on the points listed below:
How to use your energy efficiently
Budget your energy and track it
Organize your time
Include quality time into your schedule
Create good habits
Create good routines
Life-Work balance
How can all of this become convenient for you?
I would like you to think honestly about who you are and ask yourself questions like, “By removing emotion out of your organization, will it allow you to make more efficient (rather than emotional) decisions on how to use your budgeted energy?”
There will be no reporting to me, therefore how far you want to take this and how honest you want to be with yourself is completely up to you
The plan is to enjoy the journey, and grow together. The methods and interpretation will constantly adjust and adapt to ensure the message becomes or remains truly efficient and effective
Have a stellar day ahead
