Your Energy Bank Balance
Respect your energy enough to trade it only for something of equal or higher value.
Hello lovely human, I believe that we all possess a finite amount of energy that we can expect to spend on a daily basis. This energy is our fuel that allows us to live our lives, achieve our goals, and make use of the time that we have on this earth. However, just like how we manage our finances, it is important to manage our personal energy and make sure that we are using it wisely. This is where the concept of an "Energy Bank Balance" comes into the theory of Budget Your Energy (B.Y.E).
When we think about money, we understand the importance of not overspending and making sure that we are getting the best value for our money. In the same way, we should also be conscious of the energy we are putting out into the world and where it is going. It is important to understand that our energy is a precious resource that we can not afford to waste on things that are not worth the spend.
So, how can we give our personal energy to sources of more energy? How can we get a suitable return on investment or R.O.I. as they say? It is all about being mindful and conscious about where we are putting our energy and making sure that we are getting something of value in return. I am not saying that we should only do things for personal gain, however, I strongly believe that we should be absolutely aware of how we are spending our energy and make sure that it is not a resource of ours that we are wasting.
For example, if we are spending time with someone who constantly drains our energy and does not give anything back in return, then we are not using our energy wisely. On the other hand, if we are spending time with someone who inspires us, uplifts us, and gives us energy, then we are investing our energy in a source that will give us more energy in return. Read the last post about Energy Environments here, around this idea. With that being said, I am talking about the relationship as a long term investment as there are definitely days where you will give more than you have received, due to the nature of relationships. I am asking you to be aware of the Energy Balance from the ‘zoomed out’ view of the Energy Investment. If you own any stocks, and are not a day trader, you are advised to look at the stocks history over 3 to 5 (or more) years and not weekly or hourly. Do the same when you are implementing the above ideas.
The same can be said for our work and daily tasks. If we are constantly doing tasks that drain our energy and do not provide any value or fulfillment, then we are not using our energy wisely. Instead, we should focus on tasks that bring us joy, fulfillment, and provide energy in return. This does not mean that we should never do anything that is challenging or difficult, but rather, that we should be mindful of how we are expending our energy and make sure that it is being put to good use. Diversify your investment of energy to achieve profit in your Energy Balance or at least break even.
It is absolutely important, and I cannot repeat this enough, to recognize that our energy is not infinite. In the same way that we can only spend the amount of money that is our bank balance, we need to be aware of a limited amount of energy in our Energy Balance. This means that we need to prioritize where we are putting our energy and make sure that we are not overextending ourselves or living beyond our means. If we are constantly pushing ourselves to the brink of exhaustion, then we are not using our energy wisely. Instead, we should focus on balancing our energy and making sure that we are taking care of ourselves first and foremost. With that being said, the ability to make smart Energy Investment choices is the intention I am trying to get across in these writings, and the ability to increase the Energy Balance “spending limit” is very plausible. Wealth and abundance can be found in both money and Energy, but ensure that you do not have a big loan that allows you to have all the fancy toys to show off, but still be in debt.
One way to implement this idea is by practicing self-care. This means taking the time to rest, relax, and recharge your batteries. It also means being mindful of our physical and emotional needs and making sure that We are taking care of ourselves in a holistic way. When we prioritize self-care, we are able to give more energy to the things that matter most to us and avoid burnout.
To end for today, the concept of an "Energy Bank Balance" is all about being mindful of where we are putting our personal energy and making sure that it is being used wisely. In the same way that we manage our finances, we need to manage our personal energy and make sure that we are getting the best value for our investment. Be in tune and aware of the people you surround yourself with, the tasks you take on, and the way you take care of yourself.
When we respect our energy and value it enough to use it wisely, we are able to achieve more and make a difference in the world we exist in, and in turn live a fulfilling life.
Have a stellar day ahead.
